Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance database systems
  • Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and monitoring
  • Manage database security, backups, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Collaborate with development teams to design efficient data models
  • Troubleshoot database issues and ensure high availability
  • Implement data integrity and validation processes
  • Automate routine database tasks and maintenance
  • Support data migration, integration, and ETL processes
  • Monitor database health and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Database Engineer/Administrator
  • Strong experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
  • Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
  • Hands-on experience with database performance tuning and optimization
  • Knowledge of database security practices and compliance
  • Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL)
  • Understanding of data warehousing and ETL tools
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Shell, or PowerShell)
  • Experience with version control systems like Git

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Certification in database technologies (Oracle, Microsoft, AWS)
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and implement AI‑driven data solutions, including familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus) and embedding-based retrieval for semantic search and LLM integration.
  • Proficient in using general AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude) to accelerate database development, automate documentation, debug queries, generate ETL scripts, and improve overall productivity.
